Gladstone Manor as related by the Civic Association
"Built in the 1920s, Gladstone Manor was designed to have the appearance of a small English village. The neighborhood, affectionately known at “The Manor” by its residents, is located at the western end of Lansdowne. Lansdowne is a borough in Delaware County, Pennsylvania, located 5 miles southwest of downtown Philadelphia. It was named for the Marquess of Lansdowne. The borough grew quickly in the early part of the twentieth century when a railroad stop was established near the intersection of Lansdowne Avenue and Baltimore Pike..."

Today Gladstone Manor still has the appearance of a small English Manor tucked away off of Baltimore Avenue yet still a few minutes away from the quaint downtown area. The train station is less than 5 minutes from the front door of 121 Walsh Road.       Since 2007, the community has rallied around saving and restoring the Lansdowne Theater. Built it the 1920's, the community feels that reopening the theater " ... will catalyze the revitalization of Lansdowne’s historic business district and make the arts, especially live music, more accessible to patrons from throughout the Philadelphia region."
The tenants currently utilizing the retail portion of the theater are Regency Cafe, where you will do a coffee stop, then pop into Vinyl Revival which, in their own words, "...Not your ordinary record store, Vinyl Revival offers not only new and vintage vinyl records, but hosts live music events, screens independent films, and sells handmade and up-cycled artful home and fashion accessories."  Next in the complex is Owen-Biddle-Photography-School- where you can sharpen your photo skills through workshops and classes!
Be sure to stop by the Lansdowne Farmers Market before the last one of the season on April 16!

You must grab a bottle of your favorite wine and eat at Patrone, get the bolognese!

CVS, WAWA and all the shopping you can handle is just a few minutes south. You can be in Philadelphia in 30 minutes via the SEPTA station at the end of the block.
